FINAL LCCS Playtech
Feedback & Final Thoughts
  • Countdown timer bar can be distracting for players because it has placed in the middle of the screen. so we need to find an alternative way to display this information that the player needs during gameplay

  • Players can use space bar as the trigger for a player jumping but also allow players to go through the rest of the story, once they hit the space bar, two events happen simultaneously which can be distracting for players as well

To be honest, it was not easy for us to start over after PlayTech. We are glad to see how the game turns out successful in the end. Overall, we all really enjoy playing our adventure platform game and we believe most players are like it as well. Excepting the game mechanics and scene design, sound design is also a huge part of our game and we think that really helps us to get players immersed in the game experience and also perfectly match the name of the game "Weeping Melody".

This week we presented all of our hard work. Katie gave the presentation with a powerpoint that she prepared, and explained what the game was a a bit about the players. She showed off some of the website, and then helped her friends with the hard parts of the game.

Feedback we got was the game remained challenging, though the level was easier than the original, and for those who were interested, we let them play the original version. It was a day of fun, and Nan and I had a great time with Katie this semester.
